Working for the SATS

MyraJean was in my room coughing and was bawling a little bit about the cough. We asked her to stop crying about it and she said "I have had this cough for ages. Mom, what does ages mean?" After telling her that it meant a long time she said "Yes, I have had this cough a very long time, like ages". We all chuckled. SATS here we come.

The tortured artist

The other day, Adele came upstairs from her Sunday nap. She had obviously spent the whole nap coloring with a hot pink marker because she was half pink. The conversation went like this.

Mom "Adele, what is that all over your face? Pink marker?"

Adele "No"

Mom "Then what is it?"

Adele "No marker"

Mom "Adele, I can see it everywhere, it is a pink marker. Do you want me to show you?

Adele "Not pink marker, NOOOO. Pink makeup"

Needless to say I cleaned pink marker off everything in her room that night and cursed the day that I allowed my kids to do crafts. I thought the small lecture that I also gave her might cause her to think of her actions at nap time, but alas, in one ear and out the other. This is how I found Adele a couple of days later. She has moved on from semi permanat tatooing her body to facial jewelry. Seems like a painful progression.

Visiting friends

So the kids and I went to visit Cynthia in Lincoln. It was a spur of the moment decision. We got to bug her kids, my kids made playdough and I got to play taxi for a while. It was a really relaxing visit though, thanks to Cynthia.
I loved visiting her. I wish that we got to spend more time with her but I think her family would move out when we moved in. Liam told me that he needed to go back to visit because Logan and him were great friends. I didn't have the heart to tell him that Logan wasn't in his room because he wanted to but because he was hiding. Oh poor Logan.... poor Liam? It was sadly sweet though that Liam thought he was bonding with a cute older kid.

Also my friend Kathy was visiting her family for Christmas so I left the girls with Cynthia and took Liam to see Kathy and her kids. I played a trick on Liam by making him think that he was going to do errands and took him to Kathy's sisters preschool to meet her and friend Liam. Liam was so surprised and he had a great time. Kathy's sister made cards for the kids to decorate and then trade. It was a really cool idea. But anyhow, I have some cute pictures of the kids.
